When was the last time you were surrounded by a storm that was not just coming at you, but seemed to have you surrounded?

Discuss how you responded.

Read Nehemiah 4:1-9

Sanballat was stirring up trouble for the people of Israel.

Discuss how Nehemiah responded to this threat. What can learn from his response?

Read Nehemiah 4:10-17

What are ways in your situation today that you can build and at the same time be on your guard and fight for what is right?

If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Romans 12:18

Discuss this verse. How does this apply to your life today?

After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, "Don't be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes. Nehemiah 4:14

This is the same God who is with us. We do not need to be afraid of whatever we are facing.

Discuss what that verse means to you in your situation today.
