HOPE

READ - 1 Corinthians 15:1-4

Paul reserved the subject of resurrection for one of the last chapters of this book.  Some in the church were denying the resurrection. This must have been reported to Paul, therefore, he gives affirmation of the faith.

Paul's message in these verses is two-fold:

1.  Christ died for our sins

2.  Christ was raised from the dead

Why was this message so important?

Why is it important today?

What evidence of Christ's resurrection does Paul give in these verses?

PROPHECY

Discuss the following verse

Isaiah 53:4-10

(Isaiah was the first of the major prophets.  His name Yeshayahu, means "Jehovah Saves" or "Salvation of Jehovah."  No other prophet gives more prophecies regarding the Messiah.

Discuss the following comments:

The heart of the gospel is:

1.  Christ died and was buried - verifies His death

2.  Christ appeared to many - verifies His resurrection

How did Jesus make sure the people had evidence of His resurrection?

APPLICATION

How personal is the resurrection to you?

Compare your personal relationship with Christ to your relationship with others; spouses, family member, friends, neighbors

HOPE - definition: "to cherish with anticipation; to want something to happen or be true; to expect with confidence."

A Believer's Hope says, "This is not the end"

How can we use the hope we have in Christ with the power of His resurrection to give hope to others?

Rejoice in Hope

Persevere in Tribulation

Be devoted to prayer
