Join us on Monday September 11th from 6-7:30pm. This month, we are proud to announce our September speaker will be Steve Callahan - Chief Human Resources Officer - Plastic Bank.

Steve is an experienced Human Resources professional with over 25 years of diverse industry experience. Currently, he serves as the CHRO for Plastic Bank, a social enterprise dedicated to reducing poverty and addressing the global plastic waste crisis. With headquarters in Vancouver, BC, Plastic Bank operates in multiple countries including Egypt, Indonesia, The Philippines, Brazil, Thailand, and Cameroon, employing 200 individuals across 15 countries.

Before joining Plastic Bank, Steve held the position of Senior Vice President of Global Human Resources and HS&E at Aegion Corporation, a global pipeline rehabilitation and maintenance company with 6500 employees. In this role, he focused on driving global alignment within the HR function, overseeing areas such as Total Rewards, Talent, HRIS, Global Mobility, HR Metrics and Analytics, as well as providing HR support. Additionally, Steve led the Global Health, Safety, and Environmental function, emphasizing individual accountability for safety and environmental responsibility.

Throughout his career, Steve has held various HR positions at notable companies such as Peabody Energy, Rio Tinto, and Freescale Semiconductor. He has also been actively involved in non-profit organizations, serving on several boards and contributing to causes related to the environment and community development. Steve holds a BS in Speech Communications from West Chester University and an MA in Human Resources Development Leadership from The University of Texas-Austin. In his personal life, he enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with his wife and two sons.
