Walk with the wise and become wise.  Proverbs 13:20

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17

We become like the people we spend time with. Do you have people in your life who point you to Jesus?

We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.  2 Corinthians 5:20

What does it mean to you that, as a follower of Christ, you are his ambassador? God makes His appeal of reconciliation through you.

I don't just do what is best for me; I do what is best for others so that many may be saved. And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ.        1 Corinthians 10:33-11:1

Have you seen people who have selflessly lived their lives in a way that is best for others? Do you have someone in your life who you can imitate as they imitate Christ? Do you have people you are inviting into your life to imitate you as you imitate Christ?

Prayers by Paul that can be prayed for others:

Colossians 1:9-12

Ephesians 1:18-19

Romans 15:5-6

Philippians 1:9-11

Ephesians 3:16-19

Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity. Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation and the salvation of those who hear you. 1 Timothy 4:12,16

Discuss what it means for you to live your life as an example to the people in your life.

Discuss how to keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching.

We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deed of the Lord, about his mighty works.    Psalm 78:4

How can you tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord?
