The Really Good (And Sometimes) Awful News

"And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
Revelation 21:3-5

"What you believe about the end directly impacts how you live in the present."

Reflect

Before diving into the new content, were there any lingering questions from the past few weeks of the last series A&Q? Review any questions and Scripture references. (e.g. Where are my loved ones now? [John 14, 2 Cor. 5]) The Poll: You can make a difference. Share which answer you chose (Yes let's go! - I don't know where to begin. - Meh! - I'm not that important. - Stop being so naive.) After reading Revelation 3:14-16, reflect on the different meaning of "hot" and "cold". What causes Jesus to "spew?" How does this passage refer to "complacent Christianity?" Take a few minutes to talk about the image of the dawn as discussed in the message. How does that connect with Jesus' redemptive work on the Cross? If indeed we believe that Jesus is Lord NOW, how do we live that fact out in real, specific and tangible ways? Our actions as individuals and as a group matter. Discuss what you are doing or can be doing that will echo into eternity.

Do

End in a time of prayer:
1. Pray for God to reveal to each person what they are already doing that will echo into eternity.
2. Pray for our brothers and sisters who are doing God's work in countries like India, where the risk is great.
