Message: Be Strong and Courageous

Speaker: Greg Holder

Service Date: August 16, 2020 Plain Print Version

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

Read

Joshua 1:6-7, 9 Genesis 18:25 II Corinthians 12:9 Revelation 5:12

Reflect

1. What is the most meaningful way you have experienced community in the past five months? 2. We heard the quote from Ret. Brigadier General Tom Kolditz, "Uncertainty is the fundamental ingredient in danger." What do you find yourself most uncertain about these days, and how is it impacting you? 3. Consider II Corinthians 12:9. God says to Paul, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." How do you do with admitting weakness? 4. Where do you find stability in these unstable times?

Do

1. Pray and ask God to reveal someone you can reach out to this week to encourage and to reconnect. 2. Journal about your uncertainties and fears. Write them down, and ask God to give you courage in the midst of them. 3. Sing "Is He Worthy" (written by Andrew Peterson) throughout your week as you worship Jesus.
