Nehemiah 11

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.
Romans 12:9-10

Read

Proverbs 3, 1 Corinthians 12, Nehemiah 11, 2 Timothy 3:16

Reflect

1. What was your example for something with many parts working together? 2. In reflecting on 1 Corinthians 12, how does the metaphor of the body impact you? What comes to mind? Are you working well within the body, or doing your own thing? 3. In Nehemiah 11 we observe a lot of people responding to what God has called them to, and many of them were stretched out of their comfort zones. How might you be stretched out of a comfort zone right now? 4. In 2 Timothy 3:16 we read: "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." (NIV) It can also be translated "profitable," meaning that there is a profound return on investment if we make the time to read the Bible and pray for God to reveal what we need to hear. Will you make a plan this week to do so?

Do

1. Pray for India. The family of God is bigger than we often realize. Let us lift up our brothers and sisters who are suffering in India. 2. Encourage someone today. As we take communion together, we are reminded that Christ is our peace, and we are called to be love one another and work for unity in our body.
