The Battle Is The Lords

Goliath stood and shouted to the ranks of Israel, “Why do you come out and line up for battle? Am I not a Philistine, and are you not the servants of Saul? Choose a man and have him come down to me...David asked the men standing near him, “What will be done for the man who kills this Philistine and removes this disgrace from Israel? Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?”...David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied...All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”  - 1 Samuel 17:8,26,45,47

God never changes, and what he thinks about you never changes. The lies saturate your heart. I have forgotten who I am. I need to quiet some voices, and invite other voices into my life.

Luke 19:10

"For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Jesus came for what was broken beyond repair. He came to rescue us. He calls us to come and do it his way.

Questions:

Have you felt the torment of not being good enough? You're too young, too old, not smart enough, wrong gender, etc? Like David, has your heart moved from dependance on God to, "I've got to take care of myself"? What weapons have you picked up over the years? What weapons do you need to lay down? Are you swinging swords wildly in your life to fight your own battles?
