Message: Get Wisdom

Speaker: Jarrett Stevens

Service Date: July 24, 2022 Plain Print Version

Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them. Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding . . . When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble . . . My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one's whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it . . . Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.

Proverbs 4:5-7, 12, 20-23, 26-27

Reflect

What was your biggest takeaway from the weekend service? When in life have you felt stuck? How does it feel in those moments? In what ways do you bring God into the process when you're stuck? How are you going to engage God's Word by reading the Bible this week? How is your prayer life? What practical steps can you take to pay attention to what God is saying through the Holy Spirit? Who is your "wisdom well?" (i.e., the Godly people that you allow to speak into your life? What practical steps can you take to say "yes" to wisdom this week?
