I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."      John 16:33

Reflect on this verse. Jesus tells us that we will certainly have trouble, but we can also have peace because He has overcome the world. What does this mean to you in your life right now?

Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundations on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash. Matthew 7:24-27

The circumstances for these 2 houses were the same: the rain came, the streams rose, the winds blew and beat against it. One house stood and the other fell under the exact same conditions. The difference for these houses is that one was built on the rock and the other on sand.

For us to build a our lives on the Rock is to put God's word into practice. What does that mean for your life?

Here are 3 truths about God's Word that you and always count on:

    1. The Bible is a Rock!

    2. The Bible is a Light!

    3. The Bible is a Compass!
