APRIL 2024
WEEK FOUR

Elementary

Patience is waiting until later
for what you want now.

Bible Story

Simeon Waits for the Messiah
Luke 2:25-35

God is with you while you wait.

MEMORY VERSE

“Wait for the Lord. Be strong and don't lose hope. Wait for the Lord.”

Psalm 27:14, NIrV

Engagement Questions

  • Have you ever waited alone for something? How did that feel?
  • What can we learn from Simeon’s waiting?
  • How can knowing God is with you while you wait bring you comfort?

Prayer

“Dear God, thank You for being with us while we wait. You will never leave us. Show us how to wait well, no matter the situation. We love You and we pray these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

ENGAGE IN EVERYDAY MOMENTS TOGETHER

Morning Time

As your kid starts their day, remind them that you love them no matter what.

Drive Time

While on the go, ask your kid: “What are some things you had to wait for today?” (Make sure you answer this too.)

Meal Time

At a meal this week, have everyone at the table answer this question: “What are some ways you can remember that God is with you while you’re waiting?”

Bed Time

Pray for each other: “God, help us to remember that while we’re waiting, we are never alone. You are always with us.”
