This is four week online class where we will examine different depictions of Jesus presented by the gospel writers. We will meet every week for live, online teaching.

This online class requires a webcam on a computer or tablet and a reliable internet/Wi-Fi connection. It is possible to use a phone, but not ideal to maximize your experience and participation. Your facilitator will host each class with a Zoom meeting.

Jesus is the most influential figure in human history. He spoke truth to the powerful, healed the sick, defended the marginalized, and accepted the outsider. From the manger to Gethsemane, from the cross to the empty tomb, Jesus of Nazareth revealed the character and person of God, bringing hope to a people who desperately needed it. Over the next few weeks we'll consider how the gospel depictions give us hope in our current circumstances. We'll also discuss the historical contexts behind these portrayals and some of the interpretive themes of the gospel accounts. In all of this, borrowing language from the author of Hebrews, we will fix our eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2). He is hope in human form. He is our hope incarnate.
